Does anyone know how much has been raised so far? Just over $4300. Whoo-hoo! Keep telling everyone you know, because every little bit helps. Thanks.

I donated $30 today. I'll try every few weeks...He's worth it.
Did you try contacting other celebs he worked with. How about TVland and places like that?
Maybe VEI can mention something on their website too.

Many thanks for the donation, and to everyone else who's given the cause a boost. We continue to make steady progress. Amy is the networking champ, and Owl and Cheri have both made media contacts as well. We're trying to balance fund-raising with not being too annoying, and we sincerely appreciate how tolerant everyone has been with our obsession.
Coming up in the next few months: a second volume of fund-raising fic and a virtual garage sale.

Can you order the cook book in the mail, I went through the mail for the fanfiction CD. I look forward to more fanfiction and I have never been to a virtual garage sale before.

And a very big 'Thank You' to you, and everyone who's donated and gotten the Pastische stories and/or the cookbook.

Oh, that's a really good question, cann. I hadn't realized until now that we hadn't specified, but that oversight has been corrected. Absolutely, you can get the cookbook through the mail. Our fic order form has now been updated to include Now Yer Cookin'!, so whichever way works best for you is great for us. Thanks for asking and bringing that to my attention. (And we've never been to a virtual garage sale, either, but we sure are scheming to put one together in the not too distant future!) And a very big 'Thank You' to you, and everyone who's donated and gotten the Pastische stories and/or the cookbook. And LML is way right about this, too. Thanks so much to everyone who's contributed along the way. We really do appreciate it. When Brian finally gets his star, it's going to be extra special knowing that so many kind people had a hand in making it happen.

Just a thought...has anyone considered the "Trek" angle? After all, he guest starred on DS9. They're a dedicated bunch of fans. Maybe there's a message board or fan site somewhere where we can get the work out?

Hi everyone. I just made what I hope is my first donation and I think I'll post something on the other forum board I am somewhat active on (a site put together and moderated by actor David Hewlett from Stargate Atlantis) I'm sure there are a few people there who loved Brian as much as we all did and who would want to at least know that there is a campaign to get him a star.

Thank you so much! We really appreciate all the donations and word-of-mouth and encouragement from all Brian's fans, and feel we're making a lot of progress. The STAR fund is now over $6,000 and we're eagerly looking forward to next year's selection process. The more people aware of and talking about the campaign, the better the chances of success, so thanks for helping to spread the word!

Oh, yes, Becky, thanks both for the contribution and for helping to spread the word. All very much appreciated! We are not all that far from the half-way mark--not bad for less than six months. We're definitely on target for next year's nominations.

I posted on the random chat thread in the fan to fan section of our little forum over at adogsbreakfastmovie.com. It's about the only place I could post about this campaign over there right now. I'll keep reposting there from time to time but don't want to be 'pushy'. If I can, I'll bring it up on other threads too. And so that I can tell the other squirrels (that's what David Hewlett calls us fans who post on his site) that the cross protomtion isn't one sided, I'll just say here that David has a new independant film he is about to get a distribution deal on and all of us fans are helping to promote. It stars his dog Mars who is a pound rescue. I hope no one is mad I mentioned it here. I did it so I can tell the other squirrels in my next post about the STAR campaign that 'A Dog's Breakfast' was mentioned here. I want to support both champaigns.

Tell 'em you got one to bite (but not on the toothbrush ;-)). I checked out the clips at Youtube and it looks like an absolute hoot. 'May our transmatter beams cross again!'
