I have just now purchased the third and final season from Amazon Marketplace. I'll be looking forward to it!

Just today, 2/14, I finally got "Hardcastle and McCormick" S3, and as such, the complete ABC television run of one of my favorite series of the '80's. Here's a short review of the set:
--Packaging: Like others have said, the final season came in a thick clear plastic box that opens in the middle, with the discs stacked atop each other (oddly enough, the first disc has a solo holder on the left when you first open the set; the other four are the ones that are stacked atop each other). The VEI copyright info, which was below the front cover art on S1 and S2, is on the back of the S3 package, as is the technical info (running time, audio format, language, video format, etc.).
--Menu: The menu (at least on the first disc) is a black-screen variation of the S1 and S2 menus, with video from each episode's preview playing in its respective tachometer window. Unlike S1 and S2, however, the opening theme plays in the menu this time. Also, in a nice touch, the tachometer window that corresponds to the selected episode is green, while the others remain yellow. There is also a "Play All" feature if you want to see all the episodes at once.
--Chapter division: Unlike S1 and S2, the preview and opening are combined into one chapter, and the tag scene and closing credits are combined into one chapter. All other chapter stops remain the same.
I've already seen 2 of the 22 outings in this set, and the final season has gotten off to a good running start, as it were. I can't wait to get to that one called "Games People Play" with Tom Kennedy-- I've seen highlights on YouTube, but never the episode in full (at least, I don't think so).

I just wanna say that I agree with whoever mentioned the feeling the show gives you. I kind of got into the show in a weird way. I never really caught an episode back in the 80s, but I did hear of the show. I just didn't watch it. I think i was too young. But anyway, I bought season 2 in a Music World store a few months back, which is how whacked it is up here in Canada. They had season 2, but no season 1. So I wanted to get into the show because I knew how rare it was to find this thing in a store, so I snatched it up. And I watched season 2 before watching season 1. I thought season 2 started off kinda boring, and then started to get good a few episodes in.
Season 1 however, I got for Xmas from cdplus.com, which only carries season 1, which is kinda whacked to me also, but I won't get into that. Anyway, I found season 1 to be great. It was full of humour, and most of the episodes had a lot of fun to them. I couldn't stand the car though because of being used to the season 2 car. But that's another story. My point is, that watching this show gave me this really great feeling. I won't say it made me feel like a kid again because I didn't watch it as a kid, but it did kind of give me a complete retro feeling. Like I was going back in time to the 80s, when times seemed simpler, and more enjoyable. That is rare for a show to give you a feeling like that.
So in my opinion this show is a true GEM! When I heard BACK TO BACK it would get me in the right mood to get into the show. I kind of wish they would have kept that theme song, but not the country version. I can't wait to get my hands on season 3. I need a fix of Mark and Milt. But I guess for now I can just go back and watch my seasons 1 and 2 dvds.
I just have one question about the season 3 packaging. Is it the same kind of packaging as Riptide seasons 1-3? I've seen those in stores, and it looks to resemble those. The pics I seen on here didn't really show it from the side, so I was just curious.

Yeah! S3 arrived yesterday from Canada! Can't wait to see it! Along in the parcel were Riptide Seasons 1-2 and the complete Stingray. Now I'm set for those cold winter evenings, haha. BUT: Why do they have to change the DVD-boxes within a series? Can't they just stick to one format?
