From "The Boxer" Mark: "What do you do if you gotta go to the bathroom?" You know, the more episodes I watch, the more I appreciated his humor and timing. In some shows the "youthful side kick" always comes across as a skirt-chasing wise-ass. Mark breaks that sterotype.

Goofy is the hallmark of most of the tags, but this was a particularly cute one.

And, hey, this show is set in the middle of the first season--four months into their partnership, and the guy who didn't want to be buddies, is dragging his yardman/sidekick to an old colleague's retirement party . . . what gives? (Besides the need to have McC present when the robbery is discovered, and a wonderful opportunity for give-and-take before that) Could it be that H wants McC along for some weird combination of moral support and entertainment value? I truly believe that Milt likes Mark most of all because of the smart mouth and how it amuses him. A lot of times he's fighting back a smile or looking to the side to hide it.

Hi, new to the boards.
I have just loved this show when I first started watching it on syndication in the late 80s. I coudln't understand why the show was cancelled after 3 seasons, but I'm glad that it has maintained a fanbase.
So, as far as quotes go, I would probably have to say the dialogue Mark delivers during "just another round of that ol song" where they discover the money in the subway tunnel is just classic. from the moment they get out of the car and mark starts reciting a poem "skidmark", and then singing a tune ending with "I sold my soul to Hardcastle" to them walking down the tunnel and Marks' wearing the helmet with his eyes covered and walking like an ironman all serious, just makes me howl.

From "Third Down..."
Milt: What does it look like? I'm readin' here. Mark: Well, I'll save you the trouble, Judge. The Green Hornet rescues Kato. They speed back to Gulls Way in the Batmobile, leaving the world safe, once again, for democracy."
