They should include an interview with DHK in the 3rd season. That would be really nice! I only regret that shipping the DVDs to German takes sth. like two months...

Apparently VEI just doesn't have the funds for a trip to anywhere to interview anybody. They'd have to take a sound guy and small staff to do it, and they're not a big production company, so it looks like we'll have to be happy if they include a photo gallery.

Just been Emailed by tvshowsondvd.......... www.tvshowsondvd.com/news/Hardcastle-McCormick-Season-3-Update/8083When you consider the fact that more popular shows in the U.S (at the time) such as Hunter & Simon and Simon will not be getting continued DVD releases, it really is amazing that we can have the show on disc in it's entirity. Great news!!

That's great news... and you're right. Actually out of all of Cannell's show, only two have seen their entire run's put on DVD, I believe (correct me if i'm wrong). "21 Jump Street" & "The A-Team". That's it. The rest of Cannell's shows usually didn't make it past their 2nd Season ("Hunter" got the furthest of the canceled making it to at least Season 4 being available for DL on Amazon.com). And the last I heard, the only continuing title, the abysmal "Silk Stalkings" was going to be discontinued by Anchor Bay.
I think we've really reached the point in the 'TV-on-DVD' market that the market has become so flooded with well-known, and unknown shows, that most people just aren't buying what they used to. Only newer titles of shows like "24" & "Law and Order" are top-sellers, and only legendary older shows like "Miami Vice" & "The A-Team" see large sales.
I think it's truely a 'blessing'... that's right a BLESSING that us "Hardcastle & McCormick" fans are going to be treated to the entire series on DVD. It never would've, nor is it ever going to, happen in the states or on a worldwide scale, and only by pure luck did we hit a one-in-a-million shot with the Canadian VEI taking such a large interest in the series.
And even if it had've been released in the states, I guarantee you it wouldn't have been the original recordings. The country version of "Back To Back" aside, all of the 'pop covers' are there, and I think we would've gotten syndicated versions with cut music, had Sony Entertainment released the show. And i'm sure it wouldn't have made it past it's 1st Season.
When Season 3 comes out, i'm buying two copies, and the sealed backup, along with my sealed backups of Seasons 1 & 2 are going into a locked safe under my bed!!!!

Actually I was talking about the DVD releases of his series. Most of have been discontinued, or never even materialized.
I forgot about "GAH", and from what I hear it was actually a big seller for Anchor Bay despite only three short seasons (bout a full season and a half).
"H&McC" will actually join an elite group of titles, that only "The A-Team" & "21 Jump St." are apart of.
Kind of like "H&McC" joining the TV-DVD-Cannell Hall of Fame.

Okay, here's a little bit of good news which might make the release delay more palatable. There _is_ a photo gallery included.

The Greatest American Hero (Like you Mentioned) Riptide (Curtosy of VEI) Hardcastle & McCormick (Well Duh) The Rockford Files (4 Season's Released, 2 To Go) 21 Jump Street (Allready Mentioned) Baa Baa Black Sheep (Season 1 out 1 To Go) StingRay (Complete Series set coming from VEI) The A-Team (Allready Mentioned) all of these have or will get complete run's. There are a few stalled series that i did not mention.

Can't wait for S3, Riptide & Stingray! I think I should have a look at amazon.ca again! The only downside is the time the DVDs need to get to Germany... For my S2 of H&M, shipping took almost 2 months!

I saw from Amazon that (I believe) S3 of "Hardcastle and McCormick" is to be released for America on 10/23! I don't know if this is just for America, or for America and Canada.

Be aware that we're not sure this isn't a fraud of some sort. You'll notice the actors in the set are "Hardcastle and McCormick" and the production company is Unidisc, not VEI. Still, we can hope those are just Amazon's mistakes!
Also, anything for sale on either Amazon can be shipped to both the U.S. and Canada.

I had just read on there that date, and you're right-- maybe I shouldn't have taken it at face value. I hope it comes out then and that it isn't a fraud. It looked awfully appealing. I'd like to have it if it does.

I went to the site (gotchadvds, but sell it on amazon) that is selling season three by unidisc and they are using the same covers as vei has for the seasons 1 and 2. . No cover picture for season 3 tho... I'l bet it is just the eps without the extras they are offering for season three. How can they use the same covers tho? Isn't that copywrite infringment or something? I'm not sure i would trust this studio either. It could just be a cheap knock off.

Hmm, that's odd. I can't find it listed on gotchadvds at all. It might be that VEI is letting them market the previous two releases since Season Three is due out soon, but I'm not going to beleieve anything just yet. Thanks for checking, though, and let us know if you find anything else!
