Wish I had better news, but season three won't be released for "quite some time". Sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but anyone who just can't wait for third season any longer, email me off-line.

Does that mean it will not be available until September or even later?

I just looked at that site and decided to look on here to see if it was announced. Are they saying that it may be close to the end of the year when it can be ordered off of E-Bay?

Based on somewhat nebulous info from VEI, I think you can probably look forward to ordering it off Amazon Canada in October or early November at the latest. Don't hold me to that! But if any of you have a problem ordering from Amazon CA, let me know and I can order it for you. (There may, possibly, be more info at the end of this month, but don't hold me to that, either!)

I thought Season 3 on DVD was promised to be released around Labor Day. Why such a long wait since the last one?

Well, I can tell you one thing they're waiting for and that's a blooper tape. There's a real, real slim chance they may have found a source for one, but they won't know for sure for another couple of weeks. Then, if they do get it, it'll have to be cleaned up electronically from an old video tape and I know they're still working on a possible photo gallery. We're all willing to wait a bit longer for extras, aren't we?

Boy I wish the big companies took this attention to detail & their customers. I know it's been a year since Season 2, but I for one am happy at VEI doing & giving their best to put the best product out for "H&McC" fans.
This release by a small company based in Canada, has actually proved to be more fruitful for fans than a mass-marketed release in the states by someone like Sony Home Entertainment (who I think own the rights in the U.S.)
It'll be a day that will live in infamy for fans when they can say - "I have the entire series, all three seasons, on DVD!"

Noting burns me up more than a studio releasing a series, then re-releasing it with bonus features and enhancements.

Well looks like the info i received from VEI was partly off. Seems Riptide S2 coming in Sep and Hardcastle S3 in Dec/Jan.
Even though we have to wait abit longer that is allrite with me. You know why ? atleast we know it is coming. The same cannot be said with other shows i love like; Simon & Simon, TJ Hooker, Hart to Hart, Fantasy Island, Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere. All of which have seen one release (hart to hart & hill street the exception with 2 releases) and are all probably doa with no more releases in sight. Which is a crying shame!
We are talking major studios in these cases so i really applaud VEI's effort and seeing to it we get the complete series of shows like Hardcastle and Riptide and i can only hope they somehow can obtain the rights to a show like Matt Houston or any of the shows the big boys don't want to finish releasing. Then we can give our good hard earned money to VEI someone who actually cares!

I hate when studios do that. Season 1 of Adam-12 was released in 2005. That show was on for 7 years and no word on season 2 yet!

Another thing-- when S3 (the final season) of "Hardcastle and McCormick" is finally released for Canada, will it eventually be released for the U.S. via Amazon.com just like the first two seasons were?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that will be the case. You can get it sooner by ordering from Amazon.ca or the seller on EBay (who seems to get his stock directly from VEI). I'm trying hard not to deal with Amazon.com since finding out they sell subscriptions to dog fighting magazines on their site.

I'm trying hard not to deal with Amazon.com since finding out they sell subscriptions to dog fighting magazines on their site. I didn't know that the American Amazon did that, owlcroft. I did not know, much less, that there were mags dedicated to dog fighting. I think that dog fighting is a dirty "sport," something that I refuse to participate in. Besides, when I'm on Amazon.com, I most of the time shop for DVD's and books, not magazines, and certainly not those of dog fighting. Anyway, thanks for the pointers about Amazon.ca and Ebay, but I believe that I would much rather wait for the U.S. release, as I believe that it would be worth waiting for.
