Which hat(s) do you prefer on our guys?
I like the Yankee hat on the Judge the best...
As for Mark, I like the White with brown strap, sort of floppy kind of hat, the Blue Jay baseball cap, and the racing helmet.
I think the worst hat for Mark would be the kiddie Raider helmet!

Oh, excellent question, and the Panama is definitely the tops for McC. For the judge, for daywear, I'd say the Yankee's hat--hard to beat a proven winner--and, for fancy dress-up, the homburg he wore to the reception in Washington. And the worst hat phase McC went through, far as I could tell, was the E Street baseball cap. Something wasn't right there, his hair stuck out funny. As for Hardcastle, the big-brimmed, straw number he wore when he was in drag in The Homecoming, that was really not his look. Though not a hat, goofiest headgear McC donned (besides the Raider's helmet) was that silly bandage in the leprechaun episode. The police hat in Undercover McCormick was so-so; again it was an issue of me fretting about what that was going to do to his hair. But, we know of course, that people never get hat hair or bed-head in TV land ;D

Interesting What I liked about H & MCC is how these guys didn't act like it was a tv show.
Especially Mark. He was your typical male.
After wearing his hats, you saw the hat hair, or he'd smell his shirt before putting it on, and yes, the occasional pitstains. The only thing you never saw was the toilet seat up.
The e street band/bruce hat that Mark wore obviously referred to Bruce Sprinsteen, and maybe DHK was a big fan, that he had to wear it.
But, yes, I love white hat with the brown strap. I always thought he looked cute.
Do you suppose that there's any memorabilia left from the show that can used for auction to help Star for Brian?

Loved the white with brown strap, but really didn't care much for the E Street baseball cap. Yeah, I liked the racing helmet as well, but it hides him too much. For the Judge? Hmmm, maybe the hat he wore in D.C.? I'm not a guy in a hat kinda person, unless that hat is a cowboy one.

Oh, the shirt-smelling, yeah, he did that a couple of times and I always thought it was a hoot--that and tripping over his own feet from time-to-time--but I'm trying to remember a real hat hair incident. Maybe I just have a blind spot for that. ;-)

In the Birthday Present.
If you look really closely, after Mark's close-ups. Just look at his hair. Definitley the victim of hat hair. Its sort of flat on top, and messy on the sides.

Oh, yup, must be my blind spot. On the other hand, that was the episode where he was supposed to have hair that was less perfect than Sandy's. Maybe they wouldn't let the hair people touch him up between takes How 'bout the time Frank gave him a little hair noogie, which episode? I'm blocking. Anyway, did he have noogie-hair after that? On the other hand, look up and to your right at the back-ground pic here. Is that not a perfect 'do? And is he not outdoors, and at a racetrack, and presumably in and out of the helmet? Looks to me like the '80's were the golden years for on-set hair stylists. Heck, Starsky and Hutch must've employed at least two. ;D

Maybe they should've titled "Stranglehold" Hair Noogie instead. My favorite judge hat (and I know I'm going to be in a tiny minority here) is the tan flat cap with a brim (not the beret, I wasn't crazy about that) that he wore sometimes with his bulky tan jacket. Maybe that's because it was BK's own hat, as seen in a couple of candids off the set. It looks sharp, it goes well with his coloring and it keeps the head warm!
You know what I would've really like to have seen, just once? McCormick in a cowboy hat and the judge in a deerstalker.

I always liked BK in that cowboy hat.
He wore it a few times in Harcastle goes to warshington, homecoming, you don't hear the one that gets you, and somewhere else.
It really made him look sharp and very handsome.
I never really liked DHK in hats, as I never thought he looked that great in them, except for his white fedora-type hat. Baseball caps, nah-ah. Especially since his hair is so big and poofy.
Speaking of hairdays. I always thought Mark left his hair to do whatever it wanted to in season 2.
In season 1, they definitely gave him the definitive "good-looking" guy type of hairstyle. But when season 2 came around, it was like "ah, let's just comb it and leave it".
But season 3? it was back to "get that hair nice again" style.

I personally despise the Yankees, but it looks good on Milt. I also like the baseball cap with the LAPD pin in the middle. The cowboy hat has to be my favorite though. DHK's hair is too good for hats. If I have to choose, I'd go with the Panama hat. And then there's always the hard hats!

Okay, see? My point exactly about DHK's hair in season 1. You'll notice in that hardhat that his hair is styled to perfection. I'm sure in season 2, it would've looked ratty. And then there's always the hard hats! [/quote]

Yeah, I know the Ponderosa hats, and they're great, but . . . he just didn't have the hair, then! I want Mark McCormick in a cowboy hat -- hey, isn't _everything_ possible on the internet these days!
