"Drive" by Mike Post and Pete Carpenter
Drive! Push it to the floor till the engine screams. Drive! Drivin' like the demon that drives your beat.
You're on a hard road, nobody cares If you hit the breaks. You gotta think fast, keep it in gear, One slip is all it takes. You gotta keep your wheels on the straight and narrow, If you wanna survive.
Drive! Push it to the floor till the engine screams. Drive! Drivin' like the demon that drives the beat. Drive!

Season 2 & 3 Theme "Back to Back"
Two people in two different worlds Billions of light years apart Two strangers in dangerous times Shootin' it straight from the heart Little by little, we meet in the middle The give and the take never ends It's kinda excitin' this fussin' and fighting Here we go acting like friends
Back to back, holdin' the line We're over our heads, but we're in it together Back to back, stumblin' by We'll take it one step at a time
I had a feelin' the moment we met You were the wrong kind of luck You're like a bad habit that I can't forget You've got the right kind of stuff

I thought it was "demon that drives your dreams". And what happened to the middle lyrics -- "Slow motion man, iron and steel in the palm of your handd; hot-wired heart, betting your life on the state of the art. Lay down the law, don't you let 'em cross the line. Under the hood, got the bad and the good; everybody's doin' time"?

You're right...see what happens when you rely on others to do your research! [sarcasm]. I have not seen an episode since 1983 . I'm anxiously awaiting the DVD release so I can take a trip down memory lane.

I suppose that sort of makes sense, all things considered, but heck, for the past couple of decades now I've been thinking it was "high flyin' heart".

Well, thank goodness we finally got that cleared up! And, maybe we'll get a whole lyric sheet before long, too. Keep your fingers crossed.

I gotta another quibble (sorry to be such a nuisance). In "Back to Back", I thought it was "stumblin' blind", not "stumblin' by". It rhymes better, too. Please don't feel you have to go to all the trouble to get sheet music. At this point, I'll subside if public opinion is against me!

Well, honestly, for years and years, that particular phrase was just gibberish to me. But, once I saw lyrics printed somewhere, I could hear "stumblin by" quite clearly. But seriously, for a long time, I'd sing, "Back to back, la-la-la." I think I had a few things that I'd try sticking in from time to time, but I was always pretty sure they were wrong, and then I'd just go back to the 'la's.

Don't beat yourself up about it -- I found a site that printed the lyics thusly:
Back to back (incomrehensible) We'll take it one step at a time.
Just terrific as a source of pertinent info, huh?
