Let me introduce myself, my name is Richie F. Levine. I am a 3 time author of television books and a lifelong Hardcastle and Mccormick fan.
Now I have been monitoring the board and attempting to join for some time and would like to share the news that we are in the beginning stages of a companion book for Hardcastle and Mccormick.
We have secured an interview and possible forward by Stephen J. Cannell and we are in the process of tracking down Daniel Hugh Kelley for an interview. Sometime in 2008 the book should be ready to go to print.
Now you ask what makes me able to write this book? I am the co-author of the Knight Rider Legacy book, the Battlestar Galactica Companion book and the Quantum Leap Companion book. All 3 are being rereleased at the moment (the KRL book is being revamped with the announcement of the movie and tv show, the QL book is being rereleased with a new publisher, and the BSG book is out now and is revamped from the 2003 edition).
My publisher and I have come to an arrangement to put out the book and we need your help. Pictures are hard to come by but we can get clearances for any 300 dpi or greater photos you can give me that are from the studio. EBAY rarely has photos and I am sure some fans here have a collection. I have a few rare shots myself and will trade you to acquire them.
My email is knightlegacy77@aol.com, I also have yahoo and aol ims at that name. I urge any administrators on here or anyone to have a talk with me. This is not a joke. This book will happen and I am proud to say that if this goes well we might have A-Team and Greatest American Hero next.
I have one or two articles on H and M i have acquired and can scan them for those who are interested. I was disappointed by the VEI quality of the releases but glad they kept everything intact.
So why do I like the show? Three simple reasons....the bickering, the car chases and the legal element to it. Mark slipped up and the judge saw that he needed guidance not another prison term.
The thought of a felon becoming a lawyer is a rare idea on television these days. It proves rehabilitation is possible. It also helped that the writing on this series from day 1 was sharp and the last episode was just as good as the first.
So that is some of my thoughts on why I am undertaking this project. We have also secured an interview with the Coyote designer. You all are welcome to contact me and offer suggestions or sources I might not be made aware of.
I am also looking for the Rolling Thunder teaser that aired on ABC. If anyone has it let me know.
Thanks and I hope to hear from all of you soon.
