I have been a fan of Hardcastle and McCormick from the beginning. I have always been a huge car nut. Now that I'm older the toys have gotten bigger. I have built a Bandit Trans Am replica and am in the midst of a talking K.I.T.T. project. I would love to build a Coyote. However I would like to build what the Coyote was PORTRAYED to be, a mid engine V12 powered prototype street legal race car! My initial research plans include a GT Reproductions tube frame with the Corvette suspension and of course the M6GT body with the correct dimensions. For the engine I could use the BMW V12 probably from an older sedan. I'm still undecided on the trans. That engine piped through glasspack mufflers will have that correct Coyote sound!

You've come to the right place -- there are plenty of other car buffs here, and even some info about the building of the original Coyotes. If you haven't bought the book yet, there's an entire chapter about the Coyote: how it was designed, the different models, the "innards", some anecdotes, etc. By the way, everyone, the book is now available on Kindle here: www.amazon.com/Hardcastle-McCormick-Complete-Eighties-ebook/dp/B0045U9RA0/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1322273946&sr=8-4and I still have a copy of author's copies I'll send out to anyone who makes a $25 donation to the American Cancer Society.
