Here are promos from July 1986 for repeats of "MacGyver" and "Hardcastle and McCormick"; these used ABC's "You'll Love It" template. www.youtube.com/watch?v=aDBq95pItMMThe episodes promoted are: "Every Time She Smiles" ("MacGyver," originally shown 2/19/86) "Brother, Can You Spare a Crime" ("Hardcastle and McCormick," originally shown 2/10/86) (I thought that this one was pretty good)

Yeah, I like ol' Gerry Hardcastle and the interaction between him and the judge was priceless. Thanks for sharing the Youtube info!

You're quite welcome, owlcroft. It seems like these days, in addition to the bad quality of the series themselves, the methods of promoting them are not as "up to snuff," if you will, as they were when I was a little boy. Back when I was a boy, you could see a series in peace without being rudely interrupted by promos for other series, some of which may have already been promoted in the previous break. For example, TBS, despite promoting "Friends" in one commercial break, will come back and promote it again by means of a bar at the bottom of the screen, thereby interrupting what you're seeing. Back when I was little, the only promotions for other series were in the commercial breaks and at the end of the episodes (the latter for the "Sunday Night Movie" and "Monday Night Football" for instance on "Hardcastle and McCormick").
