The very first thing I noticed is the production number. This script is number 2101, which places it right at the top. At least this episode was shown in the right place. Also, I liked the description of the den as "booklined, masculine and judicial". What, didn't they have women judges back in those days?

Sure, there were lady judges. Remember Maddie?
Did they think they had to describe it as judicial so everyone would know he was a judge?

I promise, I'm going to watch and read this script this weekend. I've just been wiped out lately and not inclined to watch anything...except my weekly NCIS fix, of course.

Pooh, the best laid plans of mice and Hardcastle fans go awry. I've been interrupted by so much that I've given up. I think I'll try again tomorrow. The power company has been putting in new poles for the next hurricane (heaven forbid we use underground lines) and keep cutting the power off and on. Then we're visited by every religious group in the area (a bunch of new churches and meeting halls have been built, so I guess they need new members to help with the building fund).

One thing that struck me during a quick review of the script was the fact that in the script, Milt's son was killed in Korea. In the show, he was considered to have died in Nam. I assume this was to make Mark and the unnamed son closer in age.

I know I may be behind on this one, but just got the time to respond. In addition to changing where the judge's son died, his wife's name was also changed. In the script, it was Betty.
And another thing I noticed was, when Hardcastle is impounding the car, he and Cadillac exchange words. Cadillac says he should have taken care of Hardcastle years ago, and the judge asks him if it was a threat. He then asks if he is going to come after him with his kids bat like he did in '46. That question doesn't make sense because later Cadillac tells them about having a son, and the judge doesn't know anything about it.
