Hi to all the participants in the script discussion group. Rolling Thunder went out today.
I thought I'd set up one thread for script comments in general, then one for Rolling Thunder in specific.
I'm just getting started on my comparison read-through, with the dvd in the slot and the script in my lap.
I have noticed plenty of changes, just in the first ten pages alone. So far, it seems they come in three flavors:
1. minor wording stuff--probably just the actors paraphrasing, with the meaning kept intact.
2. streamlining changes--things that obviously cut cost for the production, and,
3. the most interesting ones--the dialog changes that appear to either have been added in later, or that make a difference in tone or meaning. Lots to discuss there.
Let the games begin ;-)

NCIS is on tonight, so I won't be watching tonight. But tomorrow night, it's Rolling Thunder heaven. Therefore I'm gonna wait to read everyone's posts, okay?

Now, do we call NCIS a case of RL interference, or what? ;-)
Looking forward to your joining in soon. Owl and I are trying to contain ourselves, though you see we're not very good at that.

Technical notes: some of the future script files are stubbornly flipped 180 degrees upside-down. Very easy to upright them using the rotation button on the adobe file bar at the top. Click twice. The whole file should now read correctly.
If you wish to print out hard copy, and have reasonably good vision, I suggest printing two pages to a 8 x11 sheet, in landscape mode. There just isn't that much print to a page and you will save much paper and page turning.

I'm sorry to be so far behind, but I just found a few minutes to get over here and get caught up. It isn't other shows that are interferring, but life itself.
