The STAR group is very happy to announce that we have acquired many of the original scripts for the show and we're setting up a discussion forum right here to compare them to the aired episodes. Here's how it works. Every month, we send out a script to you in PDF format. We all read the script, watch the episode and compare the differences here on-line. For a $5 donation, you get three scripts (three months) and we're going to do them in chronological order. Here are answers to some possible questions: The first discussion month begins on February 5th. The two-parters (Rolling Thunder and Homecoming) will count as one script each. When we come to a script we don't have (e.g. Crystal Duck), we skip that one. You donate here -- www.starforbrian.homestead.com/Fundraising.htmleither by Paypal or mail. Anyone joining after the discussions have commenced will be welcome, but only the scripts for discussion in that three-month period will be transmitted to new members. At the end of the first round of discussions, if there are enough interested, we'll do it all again! Yes, the electronic versions of the scripts are yours to keep and we don't care if you print them out or just read them off the screen. However, we'd very much appreciate it if you wouldn't pass them on to others for a while. Bear in mind, there are probably some copyright issues here and while we contacted some of the scriptwriters and have their permission, it would be better if we kept them within the group, at least for now. Any more questions, please let me know. As a favor to us, if you could just post here or send me an email off-line letting me know you're signing up, that would be great. (Let me just say there were some surprising changes between the scripts and the episodes -- for example, the sauna scene in "Georgia Street Motors"? Hah!)

It turns out we have "Prince of Fat City" script and it's included in the re-vamped schedule below. Anyone signing up for the first set (or all of them) will get both parts of "Rolling Thunder" on Monday. The rest of the scripts will follow in sequence on the first Monday of each month. A big thank you to all of you who've responded (and a big it's not too late to the rest of you)!

Well, it's only a couple of days until we launch the discussion group and start sending out Rolling Thunder. I can't wait! Thanks so much to everyone who's already signed up. I do have a small favor to ask, though; if you've signed up and haven't already touched base with Owl, will you please drop a line to her or to me this weekend? We're trying to make sure we've got everyone's correct/preferred email address before we get everything started. We've also had a few recurring questions, so I wanted to let everyone know that we have updated our site, www.starforbrian.com/Fundraising.html with all the info. But, just to cover the two most basic questions: First, this is the place where we'll be holding the discussions. If you've been lurking around and think you might like to participate, you do have to be a registered member to post, but it's simple; just click the 'register' link at the top of the home page. We love new members! And, the second question generally concerns exactly what you get for your money. I mean, it's a free forum, right? (Right!) But, since we're discussing the differences between the written word and the aired episode, what your membership gets you is a PDF version of the script under discussion. We're covering one a month, and a three month membership (3 scripts) is only a $5 donation. We're really looking forward to the comparing and contrasting, and I hope you guys are, too. Thanks again, and if you have any questions at all, do let us know.

Just a reminder that The STAR for Brian group has copies of pretty nearly every script filmed and we're giving away electronic versions in batches of three for every $5 donation. In other words, for a $5 donation to the STAR group, you can get the next-scheduled set of "The Boxer", "Killer B's", and "Prince of Fat City" for $5. Or the whole kit and kaboodle for a $95 donation.
Each scheduled script is emailed in PDF format the first Monday of the month, and we then discuss the differences, changes, and variations between script and episode right here in Script Discussions.
Here's a teaser for you: in "The Boxer", you can see exactly how much of the sparring match is ad lib and what was scripted. If you have any questions at all, please email me off-line and I'll get right back to you, and thanks so much all of you, for your support and encouragement!

Now that Brian has been approved for his star, we're going to make a new offer to all of you who are interested in the electronic version of the scripts from "Hardcastle and McCormick". You may remember that we're selling them in batches of three and that some of you were waiting until your favorite script came in up for "sale". Well, we're hereby offering any script for sale (yes, "If You Could See", "Do Not Go Gentle", "Birthday Present" -- all of them) in the same triplet batches as before, but available now, for that same $5 donation to the STAR fund.
In other words, if you want the script for "Hate the Picture, Love the Frame", you send us $5 (starforbrian.com, click on the Fundraising page, and take it from there) and you get "Just A Girl from Accounting", "It Could've Been Worse, She Could've Been a Welder" _and_ "Hate the Picture, Love the Frame".
Also, from my own personal files, I'm making available a pdf version of the script that was never filmed -- "My Girlfriend's Back and There's Gonna Be Trouble". A $5 donation gets you the "missing episode".
Any questions, let me know off-line and thank you all again, for all the support and help and encouragement!

Out of curiosity, is it too late to get these scripts? I know a lot of years have passed since they were available....
