For those who were interested in the indepedant film that actor David Hewlett wrote and directed ("A Dog's Breakfast") - David just posted last night with a very big anouncement:
Sorry everyone - David just posted that the 'official' announcement which was suppose to be released by the studio on Wednesday has been put off until Monday and then it will be an exculsive article on Multichannel News.
Will repost the news when it is "official"

I'm not familiar with David Hewitt. Do you have a link to a website where our members can learn more about David and his work?

Oh, of course. Silly of me really. Sorry about that. David has done several movies and has appeared on a few TV shows here is his IMDb listing: uk.imdb.com/name/nm0382110/Another very good site about David is: www.david-hewlett.co.uk/David is currently one of the stars of the series "Stargate Atlantis" He is the most popular character/actor of the series and decided to start a blog site in order to keep in touch with his fans. He then decided to turn the site into the official site of his indy film. The forum boards (called the dGeek forums since that was the original name of the site) are where many of his fans spend some time talking to each other. There are no moderators on the forum boards - David himself regulates the site - moving threads to different sections of the forums if someone posts them in the wrong spots or (as when he first started the site) he feels he has enough threads on certain subjects to create a new forum area. Here is the address: www.adogsbreakfastmovie.com/I have mentioned the Star For Brian Campaign over on those boards already, and will bring it up again soon (I think I will start a seperate thread for it in fact) I'm hoping to generate some interest over there.

Okay, So the big news is this: MGM has picked up the worldwide distribution rights to David's film, "A Dog's Breakfast". While they are looking at television and DVD release of the film, but (according to a blog entry by David) have agreed to do limited theater showings if there appears to be an interest in doing so - in other words, if the numbers for the clips on You Tube are high. David had a sneek peak screening the week before Thanksgiving in L.A. and even though around 200 fans came to it, he took the time to walk the line and speak to each one of them personally to thank them for supporting him. Here is the link for th trailer David created for the film (but I will warn you, you see a LOT of David in the first scene): www.youtube.com/watch?v=wmN6u8iYFlIAnd the press release is: www.adogsbreakfastmovie.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=54&Itemid=2

Not to deviate off topic to far, but do they have plans to bring Oberon back on SGA?

Not really on off topic question at all, at least in my view. No one is sure right now if he will be back or not. It was great to see David Ogden Stiers on the show and he played a wonderful character. Fans have pointed out that given the race the character was it would be easy to bring him back. (Not to mention the fact that he was the leader of that race!) There is still at least one more episode this season that will feature this race (season finally) but we won't see that until next summer. The next season (season 4) is just now being put together and story plots haven't been announced yet. I'll keep you updated if I find anything out. www.youtube.com/watchv=0ad9R2ONj0g&mode=related&search=This is the first part of the episode "Progeny" DOS appears for the first time at about the 5:30 mark. I can suggest that a few people dropping a line or two saying how much they would like to see him on the show again might be a help in bringing him back. I'll do some checking on finding an address to send those to.

Two very exciting things have happened to David:
1) While spending Christmas with his family, he slipped a little something into his girlfriend Jane's stocking. A little box with a ring inside. She said yes and they are now planning their wedding.
2) Sci-Fi Channel has just announced that the will be showing a new TV series that David is writingcalled "Starcrossed". It will be a half hour comedy based on the behind the scenes of working on a scf-fi soap opera. For those people who have actually seen the first YouTube video of David's film "A Dog's Breakfast" - the little sci-fi show that contained the line "May our transmatter beams cross again my golden stranger" is also suppose to be called "Starcrossed"

Wow, I'm gone away for a while and there is SO much reading to catch up on. Don't you just hate the way real life takes you away from what you would really rather be doing? Ah, well...
I have news about both David Hewlett and David Ogden Stiers. As the fans of DOS probably know, he will again be appearing on "Stargate Atlantis" in season 4. I am fairly sure he will be in at least two episodes - "Adrift" and "Lifeline". A couple of different sites list him as a guest star on one or both shows, and when I asked SGA producer/writer Joe Mallozzi on his blog site if he could say what shows David would be appearing in (without it giving too much away) he simply answered that he would be appearing early in the season. Can't tell you how big David's role will be in the episodes, but at least he will be in them. "Adrift" is scheduled to air in the US on Friday September 28 at 10PM eastern. Sky One will begin airing season 4 on Tuesday October 9 at 8 PM.
On the David Hewlett front: Season 3 of Atlantis will come out on DVD (in the US) on September 18. On the same date his film "A Dog's Breakfast" is also being released on DVD (US only right now) ADB will be released to DVD in the UK in early 2008 and hopefully everywhere else soon afterward. Currently it is availible on both itunes and Amazon Unboxed for download. I have seen it and it is very, very funny
Also, David Hewlett and his finace are expecting their first child at either the end of September or the beginging of October. The timing is nice in that they are working on filming the last three episodes of Atlantis now, so a baby arriving near the end of production means more quality time and (perhaps more importantly) more sleep time for David and Jane.
Have to run now. Hope everyone is doing well.
