Does anyone remember this show? When did it air? I never even heard of it until TVLand started showing reruns a couple of years back. I saw it was released on DVD and it made me wonder...

Yep, watched it from the beginning to when Pete Duel killed himself. I watched it for a few years afterwards, but had lost my interest. It was a poor man's Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. It aired for three seasons from 1971 to 1973. I still remember sitting in the car, hearing about Pete.

I saw it in first run and again several times over the years. I was able to catch it in an unbutchered and nicely showcased run on StarzWesterns a couple years ago. Pete Duel's sad death, and the cavalier way he was replaced in the third season, I still remember that. The show has attracted a small but rabid following, including, (what else?) some good ff writers. They have a virtual season site: www.pete-duel.com/VirtualSeason/MainPage.htmAt the risk of slighting some, I draw your particular attention to Anita Sanchez's fourth season episodes. Also Drena Hill, who is prolific, and has her own site: www.derbysulzers.com/aliassmithandjonesstories.htmThere's also a very funny collection of fan commentaries on the episodes: www.personalephemera.com/alias/snark.htmlAnd this was the original ff and link site that I stumbled onto many years ago: asjfans.ashtonpress.net/Oh, Carol Broyles, can't leave her out. For all the lurking I've done, it's about time I 'fessed up to how much I've enjoyed all their output, both the ones I'v mentioned by name, and others as well.
