I just got through watching "Whistler's Pride" from the S1 DVD of "Hardcastle and McCormick," and although it had closing credits and a teaser, after the teaser, it went right into the episode-- there were no opening titles like there were in the previous 13 outings. What happened? I hope that I did not pay good money for an incomplete set.

Are you saying that "Whistler's Pride" runs right into the next episode with no opening credits, or you are missing an episode? Does you disc have "Mr. Harcastle goes to Washington" as the next episode? Did you try viewing the next episode from the main menu?

That is sort of odd, but--as you can probably tell-- I'd never noticed. I rarely watch the credits anyway.

I accessed "Whistler's Pride" from the main menu, and the "Whistler's Pride" teaser is there, but where the opening titles for that episode are supposed to be, they are lacking. "Mr. Hardcastle Goes to Washington" is on that disc too, but unlike "Whistler's Pride," it has everything in full-- teaser, opening titles, episode, closing credits, the works. I wonder if VEI had something to do with it.

I'm wondering if they just made a goof due to the differing theme songs. They may've left the opening 'til last while they confirmed which version went where and then WP just got overlooked. Has anyone emailed them asking about it?

Has anyone emailed them asking about it? Here is their email address: info@visualentertainment.tv I wanted to email them, but I'm not sure what to say about the subject. I believe that I would appreciate a little help with it.

After all, what's the use of getting so worked up about one missing title sequence, when I should have been glad that I had S1 on disc this whole time? I'm almost done with it anyway-- I've got 1 disc (5 more episodes) left.

I noticed the same thing on my copy.It was probably a minor goof on vei's part and i don't think it detracts from the enjoyment of the episode. But i feel your pain somewhat.

I'm going to take a stab at this.
Maybe the quality of the opening sequence was damaged.
or.....
Sony didn't have the opening sequence for that episode.

My set is missing the intro for "WP" also.
I always watch the intro, so I definitely noticed when I first went through the set. I think I mentioned it on this site in a reply form, but I guess it didn't get noticed.
I just assumed it was a brain fart in DVD production. Even if it was over licensing, they could've easily used the previous episodes intro and injected it into "WP".
