I LOVE this episode! Not only is it a great story, but just I love to pick out the little blunders here and there (like palm trees in our nation's capitol). This was a great scene where the Judge tells Mark he can't go to DC with him. I guess this answers the question, "Where do they put their luggage?" The boys all dressed up and dapper looking! What would a Stephen J Cannel Show be with the obligatory guest appearance from... James Whitmore Jr. and Richard Herd...

I'm with you! This is one of my favorite episodes, too! The scene you've captured with those first two caps makes my heart sink every time. But, Mark comes through and offers some wonderful words of wisdom..."You get where you're going because of who you are, so just don't change, alright?" In my opinion, this episode captured all the best of Hardcastle and McCormick: from the banter in the "dressed up and dapper" scene: "Hey, Kemosabe, you're on." to McCormick's heartfelt advice: "When you go to the biggest party of your life, you dance with who brought you. You don't change." The loyalty and friendship that we all tuned in to see was wonderfully showcased in this storyline. (And there was still time for a car-chase or two!) Karma for an awesome set of caps!

Yeah, this is one of my favorites. Poor Mark is all dressed up with nowhere to go and then the judge finds himself actually _missing_ the guy. The good copy/bad cop scene on the pool table. The White House reception, featuring a dip with that special bow-tie touch. (Did I ever mention I rented an apartment to James Whitmore, Sr.?)
