Here's a comical TV Guide promo for Hardcastle & McCormick's second episode ever: "Man in A Glass House." It aired Sunday, September 25, 1983. Unfortunately, the PTB scheduled it right up against the 35th ANNUAL EMMY AWARDS!!!!! ...You'd think, new series and all, that they'd have postponed the episode a week...Nope. Here's TV Guide's description of the episode: "HARDCASTLE AND McCORMICK - Crime Drama A retired mobster's memoirs contain insulting remarks about Hardcastle (Brian Keith) and have the hood's former cohorts fearing for their lives. McCormick: Daniel Hugh-Kelly. Sara: Mary Jackson (60 min.)"

Mark looks a little surly in that pic, eh? And who could forget the 1983 Emmy's (IMDB certainly hasn't). That was the year that teamed Joan Rivers with Eddie Murphy as co-hosts (what were they thinking?) and featured such nominees as 'John Denver and the Muppets: Rocky Mountain Holiday', for Outstanding Technical Direction and Electronic Camerawork for a Limited Series or a Special, and 'EPCOT Center: The Opening Celebration', for Outstanding Achievement in Music Direction. I'm pretty sure I know what I was watching that night

Oh, come on. I love John Denver AND the Muppets. But I suppose if I had to choose between that and H and MC, H and Mc would win out.
