So which season was your favorite? I've seen most of Seasons 2 & 3 recently, I don't know if seeing the upcoming DVD sets of the rest of the series will change my mind or not (you don't know how much better an episode of TV will be with a good picture), i'm pretty confident in saying I thought Season 2 was the best overall. In Season 1, at times the action was too heavy and it was before the crime drama & character development stuff began. Season 3 the show had decided it was going to be all crime drama & character stories, and the action was gone. I like the car chases when the story permitted, and at times Season 3 felt like they didn't have enough Coyote.
All of the seasons were great. But I think Season 2 is the best, because I think it was that mid-way point that blended the best of the formula of Season 1 w/ the best of the formula of Season 3. It was that middle road so to speak. I nice even blend.
Funny thing is, my Top-2 favorite episodes are not in this season, lol.

Sorry; can't just pick one season. There are too many of my favorites spread out across all three!

I would have to agree that Season 2 was probably my favorite too.
Season 2 featured most of my favorite episodes.
Season 1, my favorite eppy was probably the homecoming.
season 3, likely was the career breaker and if you can see what I see.
Season 2, favorites, the bday present(what else) and Ties my father sold me.
but I agree. Season 2 had the car chases, the character developments (especially concerning family members and issues about love and life). Season 1 was merely action. and season 3? Well, season three I think was trying to find its ground. Trying to grab something new. I agree that the car chases were limited, but that may have something to do with the budgeting and the producers were trying to come up with ideas to make the show enjoyable without breaking the bank.
I think season 3 was one of those seasons that was suffering from writer's block, and if given another shot, season 4 would have been purely amazing. But we'll never know.
I wished they had a movie of the week reunion. That would have been a real nice tribute for these 2 guys.

Tough choice between season one, which establishes the characters and the premise, and season two, which develops them.
But then there's the matter of Frank, who shows up in the second half of season 2. And 'The Career Breaker'and 'Do Not Go Gentle', which are both in the first half of season three--so what I really want to vote for is the second half of two and the first half of three.

I think the more and more I watch it, that season 3 is my favorite season.
It involved more character development, less car chases and great storylines.
I loved the career breaker, I loved the mother/father element looking over their boy Mark in "If you can see what I See", I loved the cat and mouse game between Mark and the Judge in Duet with two wind instruments....I can go on and on...
If season 3 was aired in the right time slot, there would have been a season 4 and perhaps 5 had ABC not messed with this show.
Oh, and I absolutely Hate ABC and will never ever watch any of their shows.

Other than "Hardcastle and McCormick", I can't think of any shows that were ever on ABC that I liked. I recently tried watching "Lost", because so many told me it was great, but I lost interest fast.
ABC has always been my forgotton network. I've always preferred the programming on CBS, Fox & NBC.
