Hi, I was just curious how many of you prefer the season 1 Coyote or the season 2-3 Coyote?
I have to say hands down, since I seen season 2 first, I prefer the season 2-3 Coyote. I'll tell ya why.
I find the one in season 1 was too low to the ground, and the roof was awful. I heard somewhere that they changed it because Brian had a hard time getting in and out of it, or something to that effect. I can't stand the look of the roof and windshield in season 1. The good part about it in season 1 though was with it being low to the ground it could get in places ya couldn't with the other car. For example, under a transport trailer, etc.
What I liked about the car in season 2 though was the windshield was a normal sized windshield, and seemed a bit higher off the ground. I didn't like the fact that in season 2 it seemed like they had to severely jack up the front end of the car, or the front of the car would have scraped on the ground. It looks kinda odd. But to me in season 1 it looked more like a foreign car, while in seasons 2-3 it looked more like an American Muscle car, which I prefer over foreign jobs. I mean it was a delorean, so I think it was a cool choice.
But I just wanna see how many people like either car. There's no right or wrong answer here, it's just for fun.

The Season 1 Car was more agile, neither car I believe was a practical car because of the roof, I mean what would you do if it rained. The Interior in both cars were not much to be desired either. I mean everytime you saw McCormick shift gears they had to used stock footage of a guy Shifting gears inside of a Ferrari. In season 2 they used 2 or 3 different interior shots of mcCormick Shifting. I think the Delorean Coyote was an automatic Transmission. Neither Car is a good jumper, primarily because it is not heavy like KITT or General Lee. However the Delorean Coyote has more of a muscle car look as you stated. The Manta Coyote Looks good in Chase scenes. The Delorean stunt Coyote seems to slide all over the place. I like how the Manta Coyote shows its off-road capabilities. Between the two I would choose the Season 1 Coyote, simply because it looks better in a chase, on blacktop and dirt.

I agree with most of that. I just can't stand the look of the season 1 car after getting used to the season 2 car. I wouldn't really wanna own either one. But it is a cool car no matter which way ya look at it. It's different to say the least. I've never seen a car like it in my life.

also the chases in Season 2 were real Cheesy, someone would drop a dish and for no reason Hardcastle and McCormick would just jump in the Delorean Coyote and chase the guy LOL. Season 3 hardly had any chases, it was all more "character development." boo lol. Also you can tell the real Delorean Coyote from the Stunt ones. Even when they blew up the Coyote in season 3, they blew up a season 1 car.

Yeah, I noticed in season 2 they still use shots of the old car, and they throw it in next to a scene with the new car, and expect you not to notice. It looks dumb as hell. Like for instance you'll see a chase scene with the new car, and then they'll hit a jump, and the car jumping is the old car. Stupid stuff. I hate when they do that. I remember Dukes Of Hazzard did that numerous times, and so did Greatest American Hero. In Dukes you'd see an old cop car from season 1, that they don't use anymore, and show it driving. They just throw an old shot in there so they don't have to film nothing new.
Greatest American Hero I noticed this one shot of Maxwell's car driving down a road, and it's really cloudy. It looks like they're driving into a storm in the distance. I've seen that shot used like 5 times now at least.

I love the Judge's pickup! I saw season 2 first so I kind of got used to that truck, then I went back and seen season 1, and was like what kind of piece of crap truck was that? I'm glad it died! his pickup in the later part of season 1 and so on was just plain awesome. Kinda reminds me a bit of the truck in The Fall Guy only different colour.

If you own "The Greatest American Hero" on DVD, you'll see there's an episode where the very same old truck from H&M season 1 is used. I can't remember the episode title at this time. I think there was alot of "sharing" between Cannell shows....guest stars, plots, cars, etc.

Yeah, I've been noticing that. Especially in Greatest American Hero. I notice a lot of Cannell's writers that were under contract to his studio like Babs Greyhosky, Frank Lupo, Patrick Hasburgh, etc all wrote episodes of GAH as well as shows like H&M, which is cool because it gives each show a similar feel.

Does anyone know where the Coyote's Engine Sound Effect came from? If you Watch the movie "The Gumball Rally" you can hear that same sound effect come from the Red Ferrari. But I was wondering how did it originate. You also hear it when the Lamborghini pulls off in Cannonball Run
