There are a few episodes that everyone agrees are . . . well, not all that terrific. I know that for me, "Killer B's", "Faster Heart", and "Angie's Choice" always come to mind right away.
What episode would you pick to be re-written, keeping most of the basic plot, but making it less silly and more fun? What specific changes would improve them to the point where they no longer make the Bottom Five? (No fair saying "leave out Angie and her kids" or "kill Kiki"!) ;D
Vote early, vote often!

I also agree with your choices. I would have to add the episode with the Leprechauns (Eye of the beholder). The end battle reminded me of the Ewoks in Return Of The Jedi! There was a nice mini segment with Mark having a discussion with the the head leprechaun about 'accepting people no matter how different they are' but on the whole I do find the episode a bit embarassing. I think that DHK either wrote or directed that one as well!?!

I like the leprechaun episode! It's silly, but adorable. Just shows how we all look at the episodes differently. Absolute worst episode, to me, is "Angie's Choice". I'm sorry, but this whole episode makes me cringe, it is so bad. First, I would've liked realistically acting children. I would've liked Angie to essentially be punished for abandoning her children and running away, not helping stop the people who were putting her children in danger. Her actions make her so irresponsible that I question her fitness to have those two brats.

I think is actually more of a question of 'what episodes should've never been done'.
Season 1 = "Prince of Fat City" Season 2 = "Angie's Choice" Season 3 = "Poker Night"
"Prince of Fat City" was just too... "21 Jump St." for me. Granted "Jump St." is a great show, one of my favorites. But this episode belonged there, not "H&McC".
"Angie's Choice" was just too cutesy. I think that was really the factor they were going for here, and it just seems cheesy today.
"Poker Night". I only say this episode because the whole 'hostage in your own home' has been done a thousand times. People bash "In The Eye of the Beholder", but at least it had some originality to it. Plus, "ITEOTB" was not meant to be taken seriously. It was meant to be an escape episode, a pure comedy & fantasy episode, and I thought it was fun and worked on that level.

Oh, but I love "Poker Night"! Granted it was one of the first ones I saw, so there may be a sentimental haze obscuring my critical faculty. But rumor has it that "Angie's Choice" was an experiment to see if adding cute little kids would beef up the ratings. Kind of a call back to "Family Affair". Fortunately, cooler heads prevailed.

I think "Angie's Choice" might quite possibly be one of the worst episodes they ever did.

I adore Poker Night simply because we get to meet that lovely bunch at the table. I would've loved to see more of them, particularly our lady judge. Her chemistry with Mark was so wonderful and flirtatious and funny. Plus we had a serious Frank owie and Mark coming to save the day.

I dunno, I just couldn't ever get into it. Although the cast was good, the story has just been done so much. Same thing with "The Boxer". Well executed episode, but the plotline is old & tired, been done thousands of times. I'm not saying 'tried & true' isn't the right way to go, but "Poker Night" always came across as a filler to me. Seemed like the were trying to juice the season along.

Yeah, I actually think that guy showed up again later on in "Jump St.".
As for this topic...
add episodes "Games People Play", "You're Sixteen, You're Beautiful, and You're His", & "Mirage A Trois" to the list.

I'd vote for "What's So Funny" since McCormick really is a pretty funny guy, unlike the protrayal we see in the episode. It would have been more believable (and more amusing, I think) if he was a big success on the stage and started daydreaming about being a stand-up comic instead of a sidekick. But maybe nothing could save that episode with its basic flaws.

It's been one of my tried-and-true favorites, mostly because Tom Kennedy was in it as the evil emcee.
