Somehow, I can picture Patrick Stewart playing Hardcastle. With an A-Team movie coming out, there just might be someone who wants to have a go at our favorite show...

According to an inside source, the studio is waiting to see how well the A-Team movie does before signing deals for any more Cannell shows. But if A-Team film does really well, the next one they'd think about would be "Greatest American Hero".

Hm... Can't remember that "GAH" was ever broadcast in Germany. I still wonder, how the A-Team will be received.

oh well... to be honest i think i've always had problems giving the roles of my favorite actors to someone else, i don't think it works for me, i don't Know, i can't explain but it will never be the same, not the same feelings... i don't know, i can't tell you why but i can't see someone else playing H&M, i would make too many comparisons and i'll sure miss the originals. i think i cant' help here... sorry

I don't think a remake would appeal to the true fans, rather a continuation of the same ... Mark, a retired lawyer, who tries to redeem some young man who has lost his way. Infact in the final episode Mark tells Milt that he want to study to become a lawyer because one day someone can listen him as he does with the judge ... so Mark McCormick may always be Daniel Hugh Kelly, while the young man ... boh ...

I agree. I think a continuation would get a lot more acceptance from fans of the original. A remake just wouldn't cut it. It's just a guess, but Danny Kelly might well be open to the idea, especially if it were a Cannell production again. But Stephen Cannell seems to be concentrating on his novel-writing these days, so I'm afraid there's not much hope it will ever happen.

I like the idea of Daniel coming back to do a "next generation" (If you will) like dreamer said. And maybe have him set a young con straight in a movie with flashbacks to the series we see Judge and Mark and back to present with Mark using the memorys/advice to help the con man.

Suppose the son of Hardcastle, presumed dead, in the reality was taken prisoner for several months, and that during his captivity he has a relationship with a local girl who becomes pregnant by him. Unfortunately later he is killed but not before he'll give his name to his son. Returning to the present day, we suppose that Mark, now a brilliant lawyer, is working on a case of a young boy escaped from Vietnam who found refuge in America. This refugee is involved in a weapons traffic and a group of international criminals want to kill him because he wanted to get out of the traffic, they were also involved some famous American criminals.
This could be a good start point, infact when Mark discovers that the young man who bears the name of Hardcastle is just the grandson of the judge, pushed by great gratitude towards his old friend who now has left him, he decides to take care of him and save him from the criminal world. Hardcastle's nephew certainly can not live in illegality, then, finally now, McCormick could say:"Hardcastle pruning the hedge, clean the pool, taking out the trash!!!" ... etc. .. etc. ... and would keep his comic side together with...a revenge???
I'm not a good stories writer , but this could not be an idea? Or maybe it is too trivial?

I think this one heck of a good idea. McCormick and Hardcastle. McCormick is the retired judge now and the Hardcastle kid is his fast gun. Together they clear the streets ofl L. A. DHK can be goofy and awfully grumpy in that role. The trouble would be looking for an actor who would be playing the Hardcastle kid.

I'm really out of the loop on younger actors these days. Anyone else have any ideas for a current day McCormick character?

I can see Zachary Levi filling in the McCormick shoes nicely. If I squint just little, Robert Taylor, aka "Longmire", could pull off the Judge, although he may need a couple more years of maturing to make retired believable.
